It was Feb 28, 2008. I was at my friend Heather's house for lunch. She had been doing Weight Watchers (WW) for a little while and was telling me the ins and outs. At this time in my life I wasn't obese, but I was fuller figured that I had ever been. My pants were so tight they could have split at any moment. Being a stubborn female, I was determined not to buy a new pair of pants that was that dreaded "next size up".
Anyways, Heather and I enjoyed our lunch and she explained that our meal met the requirements of a WW meal. I was very intrigued about how WW did things, so I asked her lots of questions. By the end of my visit I was inspired and ready to really really give my eating habits an overhaul.
But how do you overhaul what you eat if you don't like how things taste and their texture? I am not sure what happened that day, but I can say it was divine. I think God flipped a switch in me and I could now eat. This is not to say I magically ate everything, but I was now able to start trying things and I wasn't instantly revolted by my food. It really was a miracle.
